France 2020 Covid!

Well none of us saw Covid coming down the pike!  What a change to our lives as house sitters but then again, how blessed we were to be already settled at our home base at the beautiful Château de La Fare at the foot of the Cévennes National Park.

In the absence of the owners who had sensibly headed for the warmer climes of Australia, we were left in charge of "She Who Must Be Obeyed"  Princess Agapanthus who is a very gorgeous but very singular Birman cat.  I quickly learned my place in her pecking order and once she was fed and brushed, my services were no longer required apart from opening and closing doors at her behest.

A brief break in lockdown and a quick evening out

Lockdown hit us all and we settled in for the long haul at the Chateau and I doubt there could have been a better place to spend it, along with our good friends who had returned from Australia just in the nick of time.

It is now the end of September and we are just completing a very happy month at our regular sit and this time, we have been hugely entertained by a very smart cat who chose lockdown as an excuse to leave his home in the vines and get his paws under the table.  He tends to take a delight in nipping at a passing ankle or a naked toe but we take it in good part and enjoy his company.

To our delight, we have just been asked to look after a beautiful property in Provence for October with yet another cat to keep us company.

And who loved coming along for our evening walks

What a strange year it has been but thanks to our clients/friends who entrust their pets and property to our care, we have been neither housebound nor deprived of the chance to visit different regions and homes.

Let's all hope for a brighter year to come.
